A Visit from John Lennon

Just a few days after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks I had a dream that featured John Lennon. In this dream I was
sitting at a table in a busy restaurant sorting through trading cards. These cards featured song titles, TV shows, movies and
various other pop culture themes. I came across a card with the Beatles classic "A Day In the Life" on it. As I looked at it, I heard
a voice and turned to see John Lennon. He was wearing a white suit and looking much like he did in the late 60's or early 70's with
long hair (no beard) and round glasses. To my surprise, he came over to me and asked if I wanted him to sign the card. "Anything
for someone named Julia," he said. (Note: His mother's name was also Julia. though I never told him my name, he seemed to
know it.) Of course I was very pleased and immediately handed him the card. As he signed it, I apologized to him for it being a
Beatle song and not one of his solo efforts. This didn't bother him at all. He signed the card, "To Julia, Love and kisses, John
Lennon." Then he also added the date. We talked for a short time but I can't remember what we said and then I thanked him. He
walked away.
I went back to sorting the cards. When I came across one featuring John's song, "Give Peace a Chance", he returned and
offered to sign it as well. This time he only signed his name and the date.
Unfortunately this is all I remember of this dream. It wasn't until I was recounting the dream to a friend did I begin to think
it meant something.
John Lennon loved New York and lived there for years. The song "A Day in the Life" begins with "I read the news today. .
oh boy." This sounds like he was trying to say that he knew about the attack. With the other song, "Give Peace A Chance", is he
trying to say that he does still believe peace is the best choice? Perhaps.
He made a point of writing the date. I wish I could remember for sure what date he wrote. I know it was 9 something. It
well could have been 9-11-01.

My Philosophy of Life

While at an amusement park I was put on a very high slide. As I slid down, I was afraid and only watched my feet as they
slid before me. Then I heard a voice telling me to try it again. Of course I didn't want to but the voice was persistant. So, I climbed
to the top of the slide again.
The voice told me to look around at the beautiful view I had from that height. As I did, I began to slide again. But this time
I watched the scenery instead of my feet.
When I got to the bottom, the voice asked me, "Which ride did you enjoy the most?"
"The second," I answered.
"Why?" the voice asked.
It was then I realized that it was because I was unafraid.
The voice then said, "Don't worry about where you are going. Just enjoy the ride".

Wheel of Life

This was it. Judgement Day.
But God decided to give us one more chance. We were told by God to gather at a giant wheel. When the wheel moved
we would be forgiven.
So, everyone in the world gathered together in peace and sat on this giant
wheel, waiting for forgiveness. We waited and waited. Every race, religion and people was represented here. All were
gathered in this common purpose. But still the wheel did not move.
Then suddenly I realized what God meant.
"He wants us to move the wheel!" I shouted as I jumped up.
Quickly everyone began working together, pushing and shoving and slowly the wheel began to move. We all laughed and
rejoiced, embracing each other.
The sun broke through the clouds. Once again God spoke to us.
"You are forgiven," was all he said.
