In March of 2001, Julie Rae Rickard had the pleasure of speaking with actress, writer, dancer and guru, Shirley MacLaine. The results of this conversation became a magazine cover story for "Magical Blend's Natural Beauty and Health" premiere issue during the summer of 2001. The article was reprinted in the French magazine, "L'Essentiel" in March of 2002. |

What was Shirley like? |

She was extremely nice. I think because she is so vocal on controversial issues, she has had problems with journalists. Sometimes they pretend to be on her side and then attack her views. We never had that problem since I believe many of the same things she believes in. So in just a few minutes I think she became comfortable. Talking with her was like talking to an old friend. She is very intelligent and does alot of research on reincarnation, meditation, alternate medicine, UFO's, the after life, etc., before speaking out on any of these topics. So a conversation with her was fascinating. We talked for about an hour, but I felt we could have gone on for much longer. |

What is Shirley up to these days? |

When I talked with her she was interested in promoting her new website, www.shirleymaclaine.com. It is a great site with lots of information on dreams, reincarnation, astrology, etc. It features a chat room, message boards and you can purchase the products that Shirley uses to stay healthy and peaceful. But the best thing about the site is her Sunday night radio shows where she interviews a variety of interesting people including such diverse people as Sylvia Browne, Neale Donald Walsch, James Van Praagh, Kevin Ryerson, Gary Schwartz and Linda Russek, Dr. Lee Jampolsky, Jeffrey Mishlove, Ph.D., former astronaut Dr. Edgar D. Mitchell, and Harvard Psychiatrist John E. Mack. You have to be a member to listen to the programs, but it's worth the $9.95 price. Sometimes she does guided meditations during the radio shows too. |

Oh yes and I have been since the 70's or so. I've always admired her talent, but when she started writing about her experiences with reincarnation, she really got my attention. Finally there was someone else talking about the type of experiences I was having. So it was really an honor to talk with her. We even talked about my book, "The Destiny of Miro" and she joked that maybe someday she would be interviewing me for her radio show. I'm hoping she is right. |
