In honor of Clearfield County's Bicentennial, Julie wrote a play illustrating the
county's history.
"Hidden Treasures: A History of Clearfield County" covered Clearfield County's
200-year history with stories from the early settlers, raftsmen, lumbermen, coal
miners, and many of the people who were important in creating our towns,
boroughs and cities.
The stories are told from the perspective of an elderly woman, her daughter
and grandchildren as they try to clean out an antique trunk. Monologues by actors
in character help bring the tales to life.
The play premiered at CAST in Clearfield on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 8 p.m.
and had an additional performance on Sunday June 6 at 3 p.m. On Friday, June 25
and Saturday June 26 at 8 p.m. it was presented at the Paul G. Reitz Theater in
DuBois. It was also part of Glen Richey's Homecoming Celebration on June 18.
